if you rescue your dog from a shelter, you are very likely going to be a target. They'll give you a months free of the so called health care insurance called "Sheltercare". After a month, someone will call you asking you to pay for a "renewal". Don't. You never had anything in the first place.
My dog got sick within the month and no one - no vets, Humane Society even heard of it or would accept it.
I think they bank on the fact that you won't get to test this reality in your first month and get you to throw some money for a hoax.
